Amon makes his debut in episode 106 of the GX anime and is a foreign student hailing from the Duel Academy East School who comes to the main Duel Academy at the beginning of the year.
Coming at the top of his class in 2005, Amon comes across as a cool, calm and intellectual character who has a head for philosophy.

When he was a young boy, his parents abandoned him and thinking he had nothing else to live for, Amon waited for death in the desert, but he was then adopted by the wealthy Garam group who had intended for Amon to be their heir as they had no biological child of their own. Amon tried his hardest to repay back his adoptive father by working hard as a member of their family and adored their praise, but when a baby boy was finally born to the Garam's, Amon became confused about his existence and had intended to kill his baby brother although when there, he asked Echo, who was watching him, why she wasn't going to stop him, Echo believed that he wouldn't do it because he wasn't a bad person. It was then his baby brother woke up and grabbed Amon's finger with his tiny hand, it was from then on Amon swore to live for his little brother, but these events had caused Amon great darkness in his heart which the Duel Monster spirit Cobra was reviving picked up on when it first met Amon ,while he was working as a spy against Cobra in order to obtain the card with this spirit. The entity itself had intended to use Amon but later on in the series it found Martin, whose heart was far darker.
